I come with experience and a wealth of knowledge to play at the highest level including the major leagues with Detroit Tigers (2001) and Kansas City Royals (2003).

I consider myself a role model player on and off the field. I lead by example, first one to the park, last one to leave. I am determined, self-motivated, dependable and hungry to play the game.

Jonathan Hovis

Jonathan currently pitches for the Tampa Yankees, which is part of the New York Yankees organization. Jonathan was voted to the 2009 post season High A All-Star Team. Finished 2009 with a 2-2 record 22 saves and a 3.38 ERA. Jonathan finished the 2008 season with a 1.14 ERA while collecting 10 saves.
Two years ago Jonathan was voted to the 2007 single-A All-Star game, Baseball America Class Low A All-Star and finished the year with a 1.69 ERA and 30 saves.

Played for the Staten Island

Yankees in 2006 while compiling a 5-1 record with a 1.75 ERA.
Played his college ball at the University of North Carolina. Finished his collegiate career with an 18-7 record, seven saves and a 2.58 ERA, led the
ACC in ERA and appearances and was third in opponent batting average (.199)
in 2006.

The 2006 NCAA DIV-I leader in earned run average (1.17.)
Hovis was undrafted despite posting an 8-2 record with two saves over 38 appearances and 69.1 innings.
Hovis' 1.17 ERA was the fifth-best mark in UNC history and the lowest qualifying ERA since 1970.
The Gastonia product's 38 appearances were the second-best mark at Carolina, and his 106 careerappearances are fourth all-time.
